LifeScience Logistics is Hiring a Project Manager Near Brownsburg, IN

JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager position is responsible to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager also defines the project’s objectives and oversees quality control throughout its life cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and senior management in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project resources on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants .
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 3-5 years project management experience required.
  • Experience in the Construction industry highly desired.
  • Medical Device, Pharma, and Plasma experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferable (not required).
  • PMP certification required.

Demonstration of the following:

  • Ability to identify critical data and distill into business-focused technical recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in cross-functional teams with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work effectively and manage risk in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and change
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Interpersonal skills to include listening and communicating with integrity
  • Managing conflict and using data to drive decisions, even when unpopular
  • Ability to conduct appropriate research as needed
  • Attention to detail and organization

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

  • Expertly navigate through ERP system – Tecsys Elite, Cognos.
  • Intermediate to Advanced in Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel (including Statistics and Pivot Tables), Access, Project, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Experience with warehouse or supply chain environments and transportation.
  • Ability to conduct/track analytics related to Client performance.
  • Professional phone etiquette.
  • Advanced public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30%. May travel regularly to alternate sites for internal audits and Client support.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasks
  • Occasional lifting of 25 - 50 lbs. is required
  • Must be able to read at a distance close to the eyes and at arm’s length, with or without correction

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Activities occur in a typical office environment; some activities may be conducted in warehouse
  • Employee is subjected to extreme cold while working in the freezer
  • Hazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and working in high places

  • Equipment: Laptop computer, cell phone, fax machine, copier, and desk phone
  • Systems: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Tecsys Elite (Warehouse Management System
