Position Overview

Lifescape has a strong culture based on teamwork and results. To be successful, you must be a self-starter, have strong communication skills, strong organization skills and solid design and sales skills. The Landscape Architect/Designer requires an individual who is exceptionally skilled in landscape architecture/design at a small to large residential scale and some high touch commercial projects, sales, CRM/Sales Pipeline organization, estimation, customer service skills, horticulture and landscape construction knowledge. This position will design, estimate, and sell landscape projects and be involved in the process from inception to completion. The Landscape Architect/Designer will report to the Executive Vice President, Design Build.

How you will make an impact:

Sales

  • Responsible to meet or exceed individually determined, annual revenue and gross margin sales goals
  • Responsible for account receivables with clientele; collect in a timely manner
  • Responsible to manage own Book of Sales business
  • Responsible for initial through final meetings with client to introduce the company and represent Lifescape’s design, construction, and Property Care capabilities
  • Communicate with client in a timely and respectful manner and represent Lifescape professionally at all times
  • Provide excellent customer service and a facilitate a great client experience
  • Drive business development and attend business development events

Design

  • Prepare landscape plans and details, developing them from conceptual design to final design, incorporating all components of a full landscape plan including but not limited to: planting, paving, grading, irrigation, lighting and design selection or accompanying landscape elements such as fencing, pools, furnishings, fire and water features.
  • Prepare construction details as needed
  • Create presentation packages and collect necessary samples for client presentation meetings
  • Responsible for all client meetings from consultation through construction contracting
  • Cohesively work with design team and construction project managers to ensure a successful project from design to installation

Estimation

  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop estimates in Aspire for designed projects to present to clients
  • Obtain proposals from and review all subcontractor proposals for feedback and accuracy prior to client review
  • Obtain and confer with subcontractors at time of estimation, prior to and during construction of the project to assist with in-field verification and problem-solving
  • Prepare Proposals and Construction Contracts
  • Utilize best practice construction knowledge of landscapes and hardscape features (i.e., pergolas, hardscapes, masonry), irrigation and lighting design/installation techniques, grading and drainage

Construction Management

  • Oversee the construction of project and work professionally with construction team installing the project; make site visits, assist in layout, plant, and boulder locations, etc.
  • Consistently manage all projects to project budget; create and present timely change orders
  • Manage your personal book of business, sales pipeline, project workflow and deadlines
  • See a project through from point of sale a quality finished product; maintain excellent customer services, communication, and experience throughout

Additional Duties

  • Confer with clients, builders, architects, engineers, and project managers as required throughout the construction process
  • Responsible for submission of designs to any approving bodies (HOA’s, DRC’s, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records throughout design and construction phase of project and file them systematically
  • Attend business development functions with builders, architects, and other design trades
  • Represent Lifescape at the annual Home & Garden Show
  • Continue education (at a minimum) in the form of trade show seminars, vendor 
  • Manage and/or coordinate workload with a Design Associate

Qualifications:

  • License in Landscape Architecture is a plus
  • Proven design/sales experience
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Knowledge of Colorado horticulture, landscape construction and estimation
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up (a plus)
  • Positive disposition a must

Salary Range: $65,000 - $120,000/ Year - Total Compensation No Cap on Commissions
