Formed in 2012, the Lifescale Analytics team has years of experience providing a spectrum of customized data management services and solutions including Data Management/Analytics, Big Data Solutions, Cloud Services, Business Intelligence and Data Science that focuses on building strong portfolios and programs. Through experience and innovation, we allow businesses, pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions, and government agencies to manage and proactively make decisions based on their biggest asset, their data. Our specialists are skilled at managing, refining, analyzing, or visualizing information for the specific purpose of increasing the value of IT to benefit from the data science industry.
Employment Qualifications:Applicants responding to this position must be a US Citizen and may be subjected to a government security investigation which requires possessing the ability to view classified government information, background checks and drug screening. All applicants applying must have lived in the US for the past 5 years and cannot have traveled out of the country more than 6 months (cumulatively) in the past five years. (Military Service excluded).

Job Description

At Lifescale Analytics, we help achieve data driven decisions by leveraging strategic technologies to create innovative solutions, that ultimately help our clients to navigate their ever-changing data landscape. We have an opportunity for a Project Manager. This role requires candidates to be onsite in Tallahassee, FL for meetings and presentations on select days throughout the month. This position is intended to go until June 30, 2024, but may be extended up to 12 months.

The activities this candidate will be tasked with include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Create detailed project plans that outline the scope, resources required, timelines, and milestones. Use project management software to keep track of progress and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Resource Management: Allocate team members and technology resources to different tasks and projects based on their skills, experience, and project requirements. Ensure optimal use of resources to meet project goals within budget.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the project budget, including estimating costs for software, hardware, and human resources. Monitor spending to ensure the project remains within the budget and adjust as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders, including team members, leadership, and external partners, on project progress, challenges, and changes. Use clear and concise communication to manage expectations and keep everyone informed.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the project timeline, budget, or quality. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact and prepare contingency plans for critical risks.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of deliverables, ensuring they meet project specifications and standards. Implement quality assurance practices, such as code reviews, testing protocols, and performance evaluations, to maintain high-quality outputs.
  • Change Management: Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and resources efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption. Assess the impact of changes, update project plans accordingly, and communicate changes to all stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for software, hardware, and services. Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of products and services within agreed budgets and specifications.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead the project team, providing guidance, motivation, and support. Foster a collaborative environment, resolve conflicts, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Project Closure and Evaluation: Upon project completion, conduct a project closure meeting to gather feedback, document lessons learned, and release project resources. Evaluate project success against initial goals and objectives and prepare a final report for stakeholders.
Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • 7 years of experience in Project Management Principles, Understanding of methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Lean. Familiarity with project life cycle, from planning and execution to monitoring, controlling, and closure.
  • 7 years of experience in Knowledge of how to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact project success.
  • 7 years of experience in familiarity with quality standards and processes to ensure project deliverables meet expected quality benchmarks.
  • 5 years of experience in project management software tools like MS Project, Asana, or JIRA. 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze situations, data, and feedback to make informed decisions.
  • Capability to adjust to changing project scopes, deadlines, and requirements smoothly.
  • Ability to mediate disputes within the team or with external parties to maintain a positive working environment.
  • Communication: Able to clearly convey information, in both written and verbal formats, to individuals or groups in a wide variety of settings (i.e., project team meetings, management presentations, etc.). Must have the ability to effectively listen and process information provided by others.
  • Customer Service: Works well with clients and customers (i.e., business office, public, or other agencies). Able to assess the needs of the customer, provide information or assistance to satisfy expectations or resolve a problem.
  • Decision Making: Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions.
  • Flexibility: Is open to change, new processes (or process improvement), and new information. Has the ability to adapt in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. Ability to receive and give constructive criticism and maintain effective work relationships with others.
  • Interpersonal: Shows friendliness, courtesy, understanding, and politeness to others.
  • Leadership: Motivates, encourages, and challenges others. Is able to adapt leadership styles in a variety of situations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. (Required)
