Lifes WORC is Hiring a DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL DSP (Dix Hills) Near Hills, NY
This shift is 40 hours Monday-Wednesday 3p-11p Sat/Sunday 8a-4p
The pay rate range for this position is $17.00 - $17.65 per hour depending on years of prior experience with NYS OPWDD programs
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience assisting persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or Autism
- Ability to support people with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, showering and feeding
- Ability to lift an adult using a two person lift and adaptive equipment
- Successfully complete the medication administration (AMAP) course and annual recertification
- Valid Driver’s License required
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide ongoing oversight to people living in the residence
- Implement Person Centered Residential Habilitation Plans
- Provide training and support for each person in accordance with the individual personalized program plan
- Have scheduling flexibility; may be required to work beyond the normal shift
- Drive agency vans and demonstrate safe driving practices
