Summary:

Primary responsibility is to work within established LifeLink Foundation policies, procedures, and protocols to function as a public educator within the designated service area or territory. Through the application of approved public affairs program standards, establish positive community relationships; facilitate and implement activities, events and programs related to organ donor registration initiatives and community outreach to various target audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Secure and participate in general public education speaking, health fair, and other opportunities, as well as build relationships with community partners.
  • In conjunction with Public Affairs leadership, assist with development of the communication plan for public education.
  • Implement public education campaigns and initiatives, including those related to local and national observances, within a defined service area or territory.
  • Compose and deliver formal Public Affairs presentations, both verbally and in writing.
  • Support volunteer program through meeting facilitation, recruitment, and relationship building in defined area, in conjunction with the Public Affairs coordinator who oversees volunteer programs and identify opportunities for volunteer deployment.
  • Support OPO professional programs in assistance with the Public Affairs coordinator who serves as liaison to the OPO to implement public education efforts within OPO professional settings.
  • Implement education programs, workplace partnership for life, youth education, faith outreach and other similar opportunities as assigned.
  • Actively participate with state team as well as a LifeLink representative to Donate Life America.
  • Maintain tracking and evaluation systems to assess results of Public Affairs activities and donor registrations.
  • Assist with completion of reporting and dashboard maintenance related to Public Affairs activities.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate using both written and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a four-year college program preferably in healthcare related Public Affairs and/or marketing.
  • Ability to apply sound judgement, maintaining an open line of communication with supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively interact with management, staff, and outside contacts.
  • Requires ability to meet deadlines and be detail oriented.
  • Creativity used when implementing special projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience developing community-based programs and events.
  • Must have reliable vehicle with good driving record and current state/commonwealth license.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 40lbs, with assistance utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Puerto Rico Only: Must be fully bilingual – written and verbal English/Spanish.

Working Conditions

Pleasant, team-oriented working environment. Routinely works customary hours although deadlines, special events, presentations, etc. may require extended working hours. Some travel required. Routine confidentiality must be practiced.
