Summary:

Routinely performs, monitors, and delegates all activities on shift related to tissue donor screening/evaluation and authorization/donor disclosure to ensure policies/procedures are followed and activity is appropriately managed. Provides guidance and instruction to staff on shift, along with coaching/mentoring team members as needed. Operates at the direction of leadership to perform additional responsibilities on shift in the capacity of a team lead and to facilitate training objectives. 

 Night Shift Position (7pm - 7am) - $2,500 Sign-on Bonus!

Responsibilities:
  1. Primarily responsible for monitoring referral volume, workflow and delegating all activities on shift related to tissue donor screening/evaluation and authorization/donor disclosure to ensure policies/procedures are followed and activity is appropriately managed.
  2. Performs all functions of a Donation Coordinator, routinely working on shift completing donor evaluation to determine medical suitability based on established criteria and the ability to perform all responsibilities pertaining to the approach process to communicate donation opportunities with the legal NOK per state statute, conducting the medical and social history interview, and performing authorization/donor disclosure processes.
  3. Completes timely and appropriate documentation of all processes following established procedures.
  4. Proactively communicates hospital, medical examiner/coroner or funeral home issues, concerns, and feedback to the appropriate divisional department.
  5. Routinely facilitates training objectives for all processes, including all departmental quality review activities, proactively identifying training needs, and communicating routinely with leadership.
  6. Responsible for verifying the accuracy of referral data entry and donation outcomes within the designated electronic system. Routinely reviews tissue referral activity reports for data entry accuracy.
  7. Assists leadership with maintaining departmental training records, procedures/guidelines and performing annual competency assessments.
  8. Coaches and mentors’ staff on shift to ensure professional interactions and compliance with following policies/procedures.
  9. Responsible for arranging and/or providing coverage on shift as needed, in addition to working regularly scheduled shifts.
  10. Attends and participates in required departmental meetings and/or workshops for ongoing education and professional development.

Requirements:

  1. Work requires a minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership role with a demonstrated ability to mentor/coach teams and lead/facilitate training objectives.
  2. Experience in a related tissue banking position or appropriate experience in a medical environment or family/social services field. Medical related degree/certification preferred.
  3. Ability to handle a work schedule that requires response to emergency coverage.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels. Demonstrates above average written and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and provide instruction to team members, adhering to prescribed protocols, while exercising good judgment in seeking appropriate guidance as required.
  6. Ability to multitask, perform in a high call volume environment and work in a team setting.
 

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are fully supported in a 24/7 call center/office environment, working up to 12 hours on shifts; includes working after business hours, weekends, and holidays. Assists in working with leadership to arrange and/or provide coverage on shift when needed, in addition to working regularly scheduled shifts, as special circumstances may require additional hours. Conversation discretion required. Occasional out of state to other LifeLink locations and required work-related conferences.
