We have an immediate opportunity for Medical Lab Technician.
General Summary: The Medical Lab Technician performs a variety of complex diagnostic laboratory tests that are intended to assist with improving the overall status of patients by providing accurate laboratory results. The Medical Lab Technician is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.
Essential Functions:
Supervision: Oversees and directs delegated functions of Medical Laboratory Technicians and Phlebotomists.
Experience: Minimum twelve months training in a structured hospital program or three years hospital laboratory practice is required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in either a medical technology program or a bachelor’s degree in one of the biological or chemical services with completion of an accredited academic program in medical technology is required.
Licensure/Certification: Current state license/certification if required in state where currently practicing by a nationally accrediting agency (ASCP, AMT, NCA, etc.). BLS certification is required. All Medical Technicians must maintain current license/certification, as required by State, while employed with LifeCare Hospitals.
