Liberty University is Hiring a Campus Rec Marketing Manager Near Lynchburg, VA

The Campus Rec Student Worker is responsible for performing operational tasks for Campus Recreation programs and facilities. They will provide excellent customer service, maintain facility and asset cleanliness, ensure that all policies are followed by guests and participants, and ensure all safety measures are being implemented.

The Marketing Manager position is responsible for overseeing the Campus Recreation social media platforms, on-campus promotion, and developing and implementing marketing strategies. The Marketing Manager assists in oversight of the student employee team within the Marketing staff, providing feedback and insight on projects and leading staff meetings. The candidate must have strong leadership skills, be able to provide constructive criticism, and have experience in the Marketing field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for assisting in the oversight of a Graphic Designer and Photographer/Videographer student employee team. This includes assisting with interviewing, training, developing, scheduling and evaluating.
  • Assist in management and organization of all team projects and staff meetings, and provide feedback, direction, and guidance to all student staff.
  • Assist in the coordination of promotional tables and special events.
  • Lead the day-of coordination and logistics during promotional tables and special events.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans, concepts, and strategies to increase following and engagement.
  • Assist in the analysis of social media data and make improvements based on feedback and departmental goals.
  • Manage all social media accounts, writing captions, responding to messages, and planning schedules to coincide with department goals.
  • Assist with content creation in the areas of design, photo, and video as needed.
  • Manage all print material distribution across campus.
  • Frequently oversee and assist with events and/or operations during evening, nights or weekend hours.
  • Attend all required Campus Recreation trainings and meetings.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by the Marketing Coordinator to aid and assist in the operation of Campus Recreation Facilities.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work within a brand and respond positively to constructive criticism
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box
  • Experience with social media management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Ability to work up to 30 hours per week
  • Availability to work a variety of different shifts (weekends, early morning, afternoon, late night)
  • Ability to work over school breaks (including summer and winter break)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Lightroom)
  • Majoring in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications, or Cinematic Arts
  • Experience with DSLR cameras and clean, crisp photo and/or video editing

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 40 or fewer pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

  • The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is split between a climate-controlled office setting and outdoor facilities. Both areas are well lit and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

  • This position does require driving.
