Liberty University is Hiring an Academic Marketing Specialist Near Lynchburg, VA

The Academic Marketing Specialist position involves developing and managing marketing strategies and materials for academic programs and initiatives under the guidance of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (IER). Key responsibilities include acting as a liaison between IER and the Marketing department, ensuring compliance of academic marketing materials and webpages with the Data Integrity Policy, and verifying the accuracy of information, data, and statistics. This individual reports to the Vice Provost of Institutional Effectiveness and Research.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage marketing strategies and materials for academic programs and initiatives led by the Institutional Effectiveness and Research (IER).
  • Act as a liaison between IER and the Marketing department.
  • Ensure academic marketing materials and webpages comply with the Data Integrity Policy.
  • Rigorously confirm the precision of information, data, and statistics.
  • Manage a verified repository of information, data, and statistics for use in academic marketing materials and webpages.
  • Facilitate communication between IER and Colleges/Schools on marketing-related aspects of the Data Integrity Policy.
  • Develop and support communication strategies and training programs to enhance academic marketing and data integrity.
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud to create infographics and other visual aids for marketing and institutional reporting.
  • Regularly provide progress updates, reports, and summaries of projects to the Vice Provost of IER.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Vice Provost of IER.
  • Diligently follow University policies, upholding the University's reputation.
  • Collaborate effectively with various teams, supporting and promoting LU’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively as a team member and cultivate positive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work well under pressure, independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).

ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB

Communication and Comprehension

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer and scheduling skills.

Problem Solving

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Required to travel to local and campus locations.
  • May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.

Driving Requirements

Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
