Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Structural Analysis: Conduct structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
Design and Documentation: Prepare detailed structural design plans, calculations, and construction drawings, ensuring compliance with local building codes and standards.
Project Management: Manage projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with clients, architects, and contractors.
Quality Control: Review and approve design work performed by junior engineers and drafters to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to assess the condition of existing structures, as well as to monitor construction progress and resolve field issues.
Client Interaction: Maintain regular communication with clients to address their concerns, provide progress updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
Code Compliance: Stay updated on local building codes, seismic regulations, and industry standards to ensure designs meet all necessary requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and contractors to deliver integrated and coordinated solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. (Masters' preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California or the ability to obtain it within a reasonable time frame.
4-6 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building design and analysis.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, or similar) and AutoCAD/Revit for drafting and design.
Strong knowledge of seismic design and retrofitting, particularly in accordance with California Building Code.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions and teamwork.
