Senior Accountant - Public Accounting Firm - Wilmington, De
$75-110k - A flexible, hybrid schedule is available with this opportunity!
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client, a well known growing public accounting firm in Wilmington. You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of their financial reporting for a diverse clientele. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of accounting tasks, from managing complex accounts to mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for various transactions.
- Perform account reconciliations for accounts payable, receivable, and other key accounts.
- Participate in audits and provide support to the audit team.
- Assist with tax preparation as needed.
- Train and mentor junior staff on accounting principles and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information and address any concerns.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest accounting standards and regulations.
- Utilize accounting software programs to efficiently manage and analyze financial data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting.
- A mix of auditing/accounting and tax experience within a public accounting arena is required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software programs.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
