LHH is partnering with a client to find an experienced System Engineer to join their team in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain both Windows and Linux-based systems.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and provide tailored system solutions.
• Implement system upgrades, patches, and security measures to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and provide timely and effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems with various applications and services.
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to address potential issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Windows and Linux systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a System Engineer, with expertise in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and system management.
• Solid knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, CompTIA Linux ).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
