LHH is Hiring a Litigation Paralegal Near Austin, TX

LHH is currently seeking a Trial Paralegal with 5 years of experience in litigation matters for a Best Place to Work recognized Regional Firm in Austin, TX. Successful candidate will be detail orientated with great organizational and multitasking skills. This position is full time with GREAT pay, team, and benefits. Duties, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting attorneys in all phases of litigation, including initial client interview, research, drafting of documents and pleadings, interviewing of witnesses, depositions, motions, trial notebooks, appellate cases specifically, trial, appeal and execution of judgment
  • Organizing client files, obtaining medical reports, and issuing subpoenas
  • eFiling documents and docketing of case schedule
  • Assisting with drafting, tracking of deadlines and organizing responses to requests for admissions, requests for production, requests for disclosure and interrogatories
  • Document Production
  • Trial preparation including trial notebooks, exhibits, expert and witnesses lists, Shepardizing and cite checking
  • Summarizing trial testimony as requested
  • Meeting with attorney and client daily during trial to plan for next day
  • Assisting in preparation of briefs, including performing cite checks (both for blue booking—ensuring cites are done properly—and substantive checks), reporting on requirements, and working with attorney to get brief into file-ready shape
  • Handling post-trial work with attorney, including assisting with post-trial briefing, bonds, and other work, along the lines of the work described above
  • Researching case law whether manual, Westlaw or Lexis

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree, or Paralegal certificate, or 10 years working in the industry with specific paralegal experience
  • Appellate Experience
  • Trial Attendance Experience
