LHH is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Elgin, IL

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team in Elgin, IL. We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead a small HR department and drive HR initiatives within the organization. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including employee relations, multi-state HR compliance, training and development, recruitment, and talent acquisition. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred), along with a minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience. Experience with multi-state HR compliance is required and prior union experience is highly desirable. Experience supporting a manufacturing or distribution an employee population is certainly a plus. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small human resources department.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across multiple states, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR legal requirements.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR-related matters, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead recruitment and talent acquisition efforts, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the organization.
  • Maintain HR records and systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Participate in collective bargaining negotiations and manage union relationships.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with a focus on employee relations, multi-state HR compliance, recruitment, and talent management.
  • Experience with multi-state HR compliance and knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or unionized environment is a plus.
  • SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is preferred but not required.
