We are currently searching for a highly motivated, results focused Corporate Account Director. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing account-level client engagements to ensure rapid profitable formulary access for Inpefa, a recently approved treatment for heart failure, in both National and select Regional Accounts and/or PBM downstream accounts. In addition, you will be responsible for ongoing contract negotiations to maintain and/or enhance formulary access and will lead the charge when working with the field sales force to monitor and communicate progress regarding pull-through of formulary wins. This role will also communicate with select influential "downstream" regional clients to ensure the full market awareness necessary to prepare our sales team for successful pull through. The Corporate Account Director will act as a role model for our corporate values of Integrity, Innovation, Respect, Transparency and Ownership.

Our Corporate Account Director, will be field based, so residential location is flexible.

Job Summary:

This position will act as an integral member of our Commercial team by developing and executing strategic business plans to deliver sales results for our marketed product Inpefa.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • The development and delivery of our account management strategy for key National and Regional customers to gain and maintain profitable formulary access placement. Specifically, this role would be responsible for managing the relationship with Humana or CVS.
  • Building on existing account relationships, experience and active account planning to penetrate accounts to understand their customer needs to negotiate and maintain optimized access for Lexicon products
  • Leveraging business acumen, knowledge of account-specific requirements, issues and needs, and financial modeling to develop account proposals across an array of scenarios and effective negotiation strategies
  • Collaborating compliantly with Medical Affairs to convey the clinical and economic value and rationale of placing Lexicon products on formulary
  • Partnering with field sales teams to ensure productive and timely pull-through strategies to drive unit volume where access has been achieved and push-through efforts for Lexicon products where access has yet to be achieved. This includes serving as the Value and Access point to ensure training, field sales and other matrix teams can maximize the brand value of our Value and Access strategies
  • Participate as needed in sales training initiatives, customer strategy and market research activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Minimum of 12 years pharmaceutical experience is required with a minimum of 8 years account management experience.
  • Prior sales leadership experience is preferred. Prior cardiovascular and/or launch experience is preferred.
  • Proven track record of wins and success with well-established relationships at multiple at assigned national pharmacy benefit managers/health plans. Relationships with key large regional plans aligned to national PBM a plus. National Managed Medicaid and FFS Medicaid relationship/experience a plus
  • Advanced contracting, negotiation and selling experience, including strategic value selling (selling beyond price), key account management, etc.
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret market research, sales trends, volume and changing market conditions to make sound business judgment and recommendations
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, and excellent listening skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, time management skills and significant personal initiative
  • Ability to develop strategic long-term relationships with customers aimed at helping patients and achieving business results
  • Ability to travel 60-70% of the time.
