Occupational Health Medical Assistant

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Occupational Health team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent phlebotomy skills and preferably be bilingual in English and Spanish. Additionally, proficiency in computer systems, including knowledge of eClinicalWorks EMAR (Electronic Medical Administration Record) system, is highly desirable. As a Medical Assistant in our occupational health setting, you will play a crucial role in promoting employee health and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • 1. Medical Assessments:.
  • -Collect and record vital signs accurately.
  • 2. Phlebotomy:
  • -Utilize excellent phlebotomy skills to collect blood samples for testing.-Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
  • 3. Diagnostic Testing:
  • -Perform various diagnostic tests such as vision, hearing and drug screenings.-Maintain equipment and ensure it is in proper working condition.
  • 4. Record Keeping:
  • -Accurately record and maintain patient information and medical records.-Ensure confidentiality of medical information.
  • 5. First Aid and Emergency Care:
  • -Provide basic first aid and emergency medical care as needed.-Assist in managing workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • 6. Appointment Scheduling and Communication:
  • -Schedule appointments for employees and coordinate with healthcare providers.-Communicate effectively with employees, healthcare providers, and management.-Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • 7. Computer Savvy: -Proficiency in computer systems, including ECW EMAR system, for documentation and record keeping.8. Compliance and Safety:
  • -Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.-Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • 9. Occupational Health Programs:
  • -Assist in the implementation of occupational health programs and initiatives.-Educate employees on health and safety practices.
  • 10. Continuous Learning:
  • -Stay updated on occupational health practices, regulations, and best practices.-Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant.Excellent phlebotomy skills required.Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.Proficiency in computer systems, including eCW EMAR system, highly desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of occupational health regulations and practices is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
