Leonardo Electronics US Inc. is Hiring a Planner Near Tucson, AZ

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Planner to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and adjusting production schedules to ensure that manufacturing processes are streamlined and efficient. Your expertise in Materials Requirement Planning, Production and Resource Planning coordination, and inventory management will play a key role in optimizing our operations and contributing to our success. Duties:

  • Analyze and coordinate production schedules based on customer requirements (internal & external), material availability, and manufacturing capacity based on MRP signals.
  • Collaborate with procurement & sub-sequent functional areas to ensure timely availability of raw materials and made in house assemblies.
  • Determine and optimize inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and/or bottlenecks.
  • Develop and maintain detailed production plans and communicate them to relevant departments.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadline.
  • Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to update and maintain the integrity of Operations processes and business requirements.
  • Lead Kaizen ideas to implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product management to incorporate new product launches and product changes into the production schedules.
  • Prepare and present reports on production planning metrics, such as production adherence.
  • Participate in production meetings to provide updates and discuss potential improvements. - Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all planning activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing ERP data and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with logistics department to ensure that finished goods products and/or sellable items are delivered to customers on time.
  • Assist with the training of new production planning staff and cross-functional teams as required.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. Additional work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office suite, particularly Excel. Costpoint is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with capacity planning and production scheduling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on MRP, production and capacity planning.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing and high pace manufacturing environment.
  • Manage and/or support specific projects as assigned.
  • Regular work in a clean room environment, e.g. support physical inventories, is required.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Manager..

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Dress up for Cleanroom environment, as needed.
