Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as one of New York’s premier human services providers, is a settlement house founded in 1894 that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services—social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness—which significantly improve the lives of 16,000 people in need each year, ages 3 to 103, on the East Side of Manhattan. Our Geriatric Care Management Program provides comprehensive care management services to thousands of frail and homebound older adults on Manhattan’s East Side including East Harlem and Roosevelt Island. Reporting to the Program Director, the Supervising Social Worker will help us to serve the ever-growing population of homebound older adults on the East Side and will join our supportive working environment that links case managers, social workers, community-based service providers and many other health care providers together in our efforts to support the frailest members of our community.
The Supervising Social Worker will:
Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Supervising Social Worker must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing and computer skills, as well as experience in the field of human services, particularly related to working directly with older adults. The person should possess excellent social work and clinical skills; expertise in accessing appropriate resources in the community; and understand the health care system and how it affects older adults. The Supervising Social Worker must be committed to working with older adults to improve their quality of life. The Supervising Social Worker must have strong communication and administrative skills, with attention to detail and be team oriented with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders. LMSW or related Master's level degree (e.g. Mental Health Counseling) required. SIFI certification a plus.
Salary: $70,000 annually
