SUMMARY OF POSITION:
One of our Pharma Clients is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a summer internship position in its Sustaining Engineering department. With help from Sustaining Engineering mentors, the candidate will be responsible for their individual project work as well as broader team activities. These tasks include support of operations, verification and validation testing, design and execution of experiments, development of test fixtures, and building meaningful relationships with staff both on and off site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Work with Sustaining Engineers to apply engineering design concepts
• Work with Sustaining Engineers to setup design of experiments and testing environments
• Attend and contribute to both engineering and cross-functional team meetings
• Create and update verification and validation protocols
• Create test reports using good documentation practices
• Create tools, test equipment and their specifications
• Support and test mechanical, electrical and/or software designs
• Promote teamwork during internal and external interactions
• Work with Sustaining and QA Engineers to manage changes via an eQMS system
EDUCATION: Pursuing Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Technical writing: requirements, protocols, test results, procedures, and reports
• Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an ambiguous environment
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities
• Ability to work autonomously
• Familiar with medical terminology, procedures, and instrumentation
WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical laboratory and office environment; 5 days/week on site. Can work during school year as available
