Lehigh Valley Sports Turf is Hiring a Director of Early Childhood Education Near Allentown, PA

Lehigh Valley Sports Turf (LVST) is actively seeking a qualified preschool director who will oversee the daily operations and administration of the preschool and facility. The candidate will be experienced in the field of early childhood development and lead management of the school. The preschool director’s responsibilities include recruitment of staff, property maintenance, marketing and communication, financial management, and communication with role players.

We are offering an amazing schedule from 8/8:30am-3:30pm M-F, full time year round. Our child care facility is like no-other! We only cater to preschool aged children ages 3-5 years old in our 10K sqft facility during late Aug- late May until our summer programs opens in June. We enroll no more than 60 kids with about no more than 30 kids per day for the preschool program. We are looking for someone who loves children, is organized, loves fitness, health and sports, is eager to grow our preschool program and excited to lead our staff and facility to success!

As a child care director, you should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as love for children. You should uphold the vision of the preschool with pride and ensure that the preschool meets the relevant standard set by the state. Ultimately, a top-notch Preschool Director will determine the needs of the preschool, protect the health and safety of children, work closely with the owner and report to owner of the business.

Child Care Director Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all the daily operation of the preschool.
  • Manage staff in collaboration with the owner and sports director.
  • Create policies and develop curricula which conform to the state requirements. Updating handbook as needed.
  • Ensure that the property and facility is well-maintained.
  • Maintain/update the program on business website.
  • Schedule training of CPR and First Aid for all members of staff.
  • Identify and schedule any fundraising events.
  • Enrollments/Registrations-all added to spreadsheets:current and for New School year including summer camp
  • Prep for upcoming school year
  • Prep for New Students
  • Make and maintain child files( update paperwork, service reports, health assessments)
  • Make and maintain staff files (trainings, clearances, anything that expires that needs to be renewed)
  • Staff Professional Development hours
  • Presport Teacher Schedule
  • Sport of the Month (SOTM) Planning and implementing 4 days a week
  • Prep for next week of PreSport (class lists)
  • Lesson Plans (check, format, print, supply list)
  • Shop for lesson plan supplies
  • Monthly newsletter (PreSport Scoop)
  • Monthly Calendar
  • Plan for Special Calendar Days (ex: mystery reader, visits, easter egg hunt, movie day, etc)
  • Being in Ratio if needed
  • Billing
  • Manage PreSport Enrollment Spreadsheet
  • Fire Alarm Drills and Testing
  • State Inspection Prep (paperwork, building, staff)
  • Emergency Preparedness Plan(Update and Send out)
  • Staff Meetings
  • New Staff Onboarding and Training
  • Manage Brightwheel (add students)
  • Upload staff and child files digitall
  • Maintaining child care application (messaging/billing)
  • Interviewing when applicable
  • Scholastic Book Orders
  • Parent Tours for PreSport
  • Support Teachers, Children and Parents (behaviors)
  • Oversee health and safety for state requirements
  • Oversee end of year ceremony

Preschool Director Requirements:

  • Degree in early childhood development or related field.
  • Certification from the National Child Care Association (NAC) if applicable to the state.
  • State license.
  • Child Care Administrator License if applicable.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in this role.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ classroom experience.
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills.
  • Love for children and passion for teaching.

No criminal record or child-related offenses.

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
