At LEGOLAND Discovery Center NJ, we're on the lookout for an enthusiastic Retail Shift Lead who's always smiling, possesses stellar communication skills, and is ready to help us lead our teams in creating magical memories for our guests!

About the Role:

As the heart of our operation, our Shift Leads play a crucial role at LEGOLAND Discovery Center NJ. Responsibilities include serving as the Manager-on-Duty, ensuring the smooth operation of the Retail Department and Attraction. Our Shift Leads also lead our front-line staff, inspiring them to deliver world-class customer service with a smile and a touch of fun! Compensation for this role is $18.75/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Manager on Duty:

  • Oversee the smooth operation of all departments, including Retail, Education, Attraction, and Admissions.
  • Delegate and monitor daily assignments for front-line staff.
  • Lead and motivate staff to be "guest obsessed" and provide exemplary customer service.
  • Uphold health and safety policies, ensuring all teams are compliant.
  • Manage queues and guest flow within the attraction, ensuring optimal safety.

• Coordinate Retail Training:

  • Initiate and organize Retail Host training in areas such as retail standards, profit protection, and guest obsession.
  • Ensure team members are empowered to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Evaluate workforce performances, providing coaching or escalation as needed.

• Support Assigned Department:

  • Report into the Retail department.
  • When not duty managing, support the Retail department in training, stocking, inventory controls, and employee engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

About You:

We're seeking candidates from various backgrounds:

• Hospitality industry - Attractions, Hotels, Museums, etc.
• Retail
• Customer Service
• Child Development

You should have:

• A contagious, positive, can-do attitude!
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 years of experience leading and positively influencing teams within an innovative and fast-paced environment.
• A guest-first mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability, especially in creating and/or implementing new operational procedures.
• The ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure.
• Open availability, especially during peak business days on weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
