Legette Blythe Elementary is Hiring a Teacher, K-2 (24-25) Near Charlotte, NC

We are looking for an experienced K - 2 Classroom Teacher. Candidates should have a passion for working in a multi-cultural setting with a diverse student population. Candidates must be a team player and open to collaborative planning as well as data discussions. The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs of all students is required. The ability to disaggregate and analyze student assessment data is preferred. A positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet the varying needs of all students is also required.

Bachelor’s Degree in education with appropriate subject area. Must have North Carolina credentials to attain NC certification. If you do not hold a NC teaching license, upload your official degree dated transcripts, test scores and out of state teaching license (if applicable) to the attachment page on your online application.

All Instructional employees, who do not hold a valid NC Professional Educator's License, (includes expired NC licenses), are paid at bachelor's level, beginning teacher pay scale until the license is issued by the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). Once NCDPI has approved and issued your license, a salary adjustment will be made to place you at the degree level and years of experience on your license. Pay is retroactive to your start date or effective date of the license. (Note: Degrees or Experience filed with NCDPI after April 1, will not be considered for retroactive payment for current school year.) Those who hold a valid NC license are paid at the degree level and years of experience currently on the license.

***NCDPI may authorize salary on the master’s level (or other appropriate) salary schedule for professional educators who hold master’s degrees or advanced degrees that do not lead to a professional educator license if the following criteria are met:

  1. The master’s or higher degree is from a regionally accredited IHE.
  2. The master’s or higher degree is in an education or subject area directly related to an existing area of licensure and current teaching assignment or instructional support responsibilities.
  3. The educator’s assignment for the majority (50% or more) of the school day is in the area for which the master’s or higher degree applies.
  4. For teachers and student services personnel who complete a degree at the master's, six-year, or doctoral degree level, they must have either
  1. completed at least one course toward that degree prior to August 1, 2013; or,
  2. qualified for the salary supplement pursuant to State Board of Education policy TCP-A-006/LICN-006, as it was in effect on June 30, 2013.
