**THE ATTRACTION**

Illuminarium Experiences a digitally delivered, global experiential entertainment brand. Illuminarium creates, produces, markets, and manages immersive entertainment spectacles that are presented in custom-designed venues called Illuminariums. What museums are to art, cinemas to movies and concert halls to music, Illuminariums are to experiential entertainment. With venues of approximately 25,000 square feet and 20 foot high ceilings, Illuminarium finds existing real estate and then custom designs the interiors, installing state of the art projection and sound systems. The result: Illuminariums become reprogrammable immersive theaters that surround visitors in a sensory space of 360x360 sight, sound and scale unlike any other.

**THE ROLE**

We are looking for an experienced Merchandise Manager to provide oversight for all retail operations of our high-traffic store near Area 15 at the Illuminarium as well as oversee our Atlanta Retail Operation at the Illuminarium. The Merchandise Manager leads all retail operations at the Illuminarium and is responsible for making sure the store functions smoothly while optimizing profits. The Merchandise Manager will direct restocking efforts, the floor merchandising plan, as well as conduct hiring, scheduling, and training. In this position, the Merchandise Manager must be able to garner respect and motivate personnel to perform at their maximum capacity, keeping the store in good working order. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of sales, staff training, merchandising, ordering, and marketing as well as strong people-skills. our ideal candidate has at least three years of retail experience, including experience in a leadership position. You should also have experience with customer relationship management, loss prevention, and store merchandising.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

* Responsible for the setup, maintenance, marketing, and execution of the store operations.

* Recruit and hire new employees

* Train, manage, and regularly evaluate staff performance

* Manage all store operations, including budgets, levels of stock and delegates responsibilities

* Understand and execute Legends Best Practices standards. Assure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures

* Address customer complaints/feedback in a professional manner

* Plan and execute specials and promos, including year-end clearance sales

* Maintain current knowledge of market/trends, analyze and predict sales

* Act as support to Food & Beverage Manager in customizing merchandise selection, buying product assortments, and planning

* Uphold compliance with all legal, health, and safety guidelines

* Conduct progressive discipline, coaching, and counsel when necessary

* Preparing promotional materials and displays

* Monitoring security/cameras and train staff

* Ensure all cash handling procedures are documented including cash control responsibilities.

* Manage closing and opening procedures, ensuring all areas of the retail space are clean, tidy, and secure

* Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* 3 years of retail experience, including a year or more as a department manager

* Multi Store experience preferred

* High school diploma or GED is required

* Bachelors degree (e.g., retail merchandising & management, business administration) is preferred.

* Strong working knowledge of management best practices

* Solid communication and interpersonal skills

* Exceptional organization, strategic planning, and leadership skills

* Strong style sense and an eye for merchandising

* Familiarity with data analysis and customer traffic principles

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

* Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and coworkers, individually and in groups, is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.

* Standing for extended periods is common.

* Able to lift up to 25 lbs.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

The job is performed indoors in a traditional retail store setting. Activities include extended periods of standing and extensive work interfacing with people.
