Job Knowledge and Role Responsibilities:
-Demonstrates knowledge of age specific development factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning delivery of care
-Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, and woud care
Administrative Responsibilities:
-Ensures that a sufficient number of qualified supervisory and supportive nursing personnel are assigned for each shift to meet the residents needs.
-Participates in coordination of resident services through departmental and appropriate staff committee meetings
-Makes rounds upon entering the building each day. Checks each nursing unit for staffing, census, unstable residents, accidents, etc.
Role Responsibilities:
-Ensures that systems are establishedand consistent throughout the facility
-Develops unit management system for group assignments and nursing assistant responsibilities
-Oversees scheduling of nurses for employee meals or breaks
-Completes change of condition/24 hour report daily
-Demonstrates ability to perform all physical and mental job functions of a CNA, LPN, and RN
Safety:
-Demonstrates ability to locate emergency equipment
-Understands and demonstrates knowledge of role in Fire and Disaster Drill
-Recognizes, removes, and reports potential hazards
Other duties as assigned by the administrator
Summary of Qualifications:
-Maintains a current, valid Ohio State Nursing RN License in good standing
-Possesses a minimum of 1 year of experience in nursing service administration.
-Possesses strong knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long term care
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Maintains rapport with outside medical professionals
-Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test
-Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job
