Summary
A kitchen steward holds the responsibility of cleaning all the dishes, glasses, silverware, and cooking supplies for a restaurant. A kitchen steward must keep the dish room and dish machine in clean, working order. Kitchen stewards are responsible for stocking the establishment with cleaning supplies and maintaining chemical levels in the dish machines in their work area. In the event of any supply or equipment problems kitchen stewards will immediately report to their supervisor and advise him/her of the situation. Other kitchen steward job duties may consist of cleaning up around the restaurant and assisting other staff members as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
