Shipping Group Lead

Schedule:

Full Time: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday with overtime as required

Position Summary: 

This position will be responsible to act as an assistant to the Shipping Supervisor, helping to create and organize efficient processes for the Shipping Department.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Assist in overseeing all Shipping Department functions and assume Shipping Dept responsibilities in absence of Shipping Supervisor
• Direct office personnel in Supervisor’s absence
• Maintain or direct others to maintain monthly Shipping Dept. Reports
• Assist in monitoring work flow/overtime
• Train employees in the handling, packing, and shipment of hazardous materials
• Audit freight bills
• Direct the ordering and inventory of Shipping Department supplies
• Other duties assigned by the Shipping Supervisor

Position Requirements: 

• Previous experience leading teams is desired but not required
• Attend hazardous materials training seminars when required
• Attend traffic management seminars
• Ability to plan, schedule, and organize in an efficient manner
• Fork Lift license
• Ability to perform all responsibilities of Shipping Clerk

Education/Certifications: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
