Lebanon Community School Corporation is Hiring a Job # 23131 - Groundskeeper - Facilities Department Near Lebanon, OR

This position will start on June 17, 2024.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Criminal history clearance.
  3. Valid Oregon Driver's License and evidence of insurability.
  4. Oregon pesticide license if required.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of application, storage and safe use of chemicals and pesticides.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of common plant, turf diseases, insect pests and control methods.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of irrigation systems and proper irrigation methods. 
  8. Pass Physical Capacities assessment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide safe and attractive ground facilities on which students can learn, play and develop and employees can work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Plans the care for all lawn areas including athletic fields by watering, mowing, seeding, fertilizing and spraying as needed.
  2. Provides care for hedges, shrubs, trees, including pruning, trimming, disease and pest control. Plant seeds, bulbs and annuals as needed. Provides care for them throughout their growing season.
  3. Maintains repair of grounds related equipment and vehicles.
  4. Installs and repairs fences.
  5. Assists with snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entryways and driveways. Spreads sand, salt or ashes to prevent slipping.
  6. Responds to any grounds related emergency that arises as requested.
  7. Performs safety inspections on district grounds and related grounds equipment and vehicles. Prepares reports as required.
  8. Works harmoniously with others and communicates effectively (both orally & in writing) with students, parents and staff.
  9. duties involve hand-eye and foot coordination in carrying, positioning, grasping and operating a variety of hand and power tools. 
  10. Examines equipment and ready instructions and blueprints.
  11. Drives district vehicles including large and small mowers, tractors and spray rigs with or without trailers.
