Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collection Representative to join our team. As a Collection Representative, you will be responsible for contacting individuals and insurance companies to collect outstanding debts. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer service-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Contact individuals and insurance companies to collect outstanding debts
- Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities
- Follow company policies and procedures for debt collection
- Handle inbound and outbound calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining successful payment collection
- Utilize medical terminology and account coding knowledge to effectively communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of debt records
- Conduct account analysis to identify delinquent accounts and develop strategies for collection
Experience:
- Previous experience in collections preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, account coding, and insurance processes is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records for data entry and record keeping
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
