Learning Gate Community School is a high performing, environmentally focused

charter school in Lutz, FL. We are seeking full-time 8th Grade Math Teacher to join

our phenomenal 8th grade teaching team.

2024-2025 8 th Grade Math Teacher

This position reports to the Principal

This position starts August 2024

Teacher must be Florida State Certified in Middle Grades Math.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Follow the rules and procedures outlined in the staff handbook

 Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities for Algebra 1 and Pre-

Algebra

 Create a positive educational climate

 Meet course and school-wide student performance goals

 Know the Florida Standards for Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra

 Participate in ongoing training

 Maintain grade book on Canvas and use Synergy

 Grade student work and return scores in a timely manner

 Use Canvas as the class website and keep it updated

 Prepare and distribute progress reports and report cards

 Create projects designed to enhance lectures and learning experiences

 Read and stay abreast of current topics in education

 Utilize various curriculum resources

 Responsible for understanding and implementing accommodations from a

504 Pan and an IEP

 Incorporate Environmental Education into the classroom regardless of the

grade level or subject taught

 Supervise students at all times

 Develop and maintain professional relationships and cohorts

 Work with administrators to ensure procedures and policies are being met

 Prepare whole group, small group and individual instruction

 Actively participate in the MTSS process and collect and complete data

 Responsible for implementing accommodations from IEP’s and 504 Plans

 Observe, evaluate and report student performance

 Manage student behavior in the classroom

 Communicate with parents effectively at least 2x per year

 Create and implement an individual Growth Plan each year

 Adhere to all due dates and deadlines provided by the LG Principal and

Assistant Principal

 Promote all school fundraising

 Project a positive attitude

 Arrive to work on time

 Comply with any other requests made by the Principal

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
