Mission for the Position:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our diverse set of backend services, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. You'll be a backend generalist, comfortable switching contexts between different services and technologies. One day, you might be optimizing our omni-channel syncing platform written in Go, and the next, you could be enhancing our ETL pipelines using Python and SQL. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, enabling our team to deliver seamless experiences across our products and services. This role is about building robust, scalable systems that form the backbone of our technology stack, facilitating growth, and empowering our teams to leverage data and insights effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services using a variety of technologies, including Go, Python, and SQL.
• Work closely with the data team to enhance and optimize ETL pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and availability for analytics and machine learning purposes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, maintain high coding standards, and contribute to a culture of excellence in software engineering.
• Proactively identify and implement improvements in our backend systems, focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
• Be flexible and adaptable to work on various parts of our technology stack, ready to tackle new challenges as they arise.
• (Optional) Leverage Leap’s extensive, unique industry data to create Machine Learning solutions to solve business problems

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• 4 years of experience in backend software development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software.
• Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or a similar language with extensive experience in building backend systems and services.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL and experience with database design, optimization, and management (experience with Postgres, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar technologies is a plus).
• Experience with modern software engineering practices, including version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automated testing.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and understanding of scalable architecture principles.
• Experience in Data Science and Machine Learning and interest in model development. This is not a requirement but let us know if this describes you.
