Leading Home Care is Hiring a Staffing Coordinator/Scheduler Near Charles, LA

Leading Home Care, the leading Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) provider for Medicaid waiver services in Louisiana, is searching for an eager, talented and compassionate Staffing Coordinator to be a part of our team.

HCBS companies provide opportunities for recipients to receive personal care services in their home rather than in institutions or nursing homes. These programs serve a variety of population groups including Medicaid recipients, elderly, Veterans with VA benefits, and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, physical disabilities or other illnesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage schedules for an assigned caseload of clients who receive in-home personal care services, ensuring that schedules are staffed for all available hours and are current and accurate at all times.
  • Identify and match caregivers with clients based on availability, location, skills, competencies, and abilities.
  • Provide backup staff or adjust schedules in the event of shift cancellations, caregiver tardiness or absence, no-shows, client hospitalization, day program closures, etc.
  • Find and provide staff for new clients as quickly as possible, setting up meet-and-greets with available staff.
  • Communicate frequently with clients and families regarding schedule changes and to ensure satisfaction.
  • Contact caregivers who fail to clock in or out for their scheduled shifts or have failed to fulfill all requirements for the visit to be verified.
  • Communicate with caregivers regarding open visit requests & time off requests.
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring caregivers by promoting job openings, interviewing applicants, and engaging with jobseekers throughout the hiring process.
  • Participate in the facilitation of Caregiver Orientation on a regular basis.
  • Utilize database system to document schedule changes, notes, and communication with staff, clients, and families.
  • Coordinate with Director, Client Care Managers, and HR on a regular basis to discuss any needs or issues regarding clients or employees.
  • Conduct disciplinary actions with caregivers who fail to adhere to company policies & procedures regarding scheduling.
  • Participate in weekly staffing meetings.
  • Maintain all aspects of confidentiality according to HIPAA, company policy, and other applicable regulations.
  • Promote LHCL in the local community within the permissible standards, with active involvement in company-sponsored community events.
  • Participate in after hours on-call rotation and serve as backup staff working in-home with clients as needed.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and guidelines established by LHCL, Medicaid program manuals, and LDH-HCBS licensing standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience preferred (caregiving, homecare, or staffing/scheduling)
  • Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to interact on a professional level with LHCL stakeholders
  • Compassion and eagerness to serve elderly and disabled individuals
  • Basic computer skills including Windows & Microsoft Office, and the capacity to operate office equipment
  • Basic addition/subtraction and general analytical skills
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, vehicle inspection, and reliable personal transportation; willingness to transport clients in personal vehicle
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions in English
  • Must satisfactorily pass all required and applicable State & Federal eligibility verifications including background, driver's license, and other required screenings
  • Physical requirements include stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs (carrying files/boxes, assisting with client lifts/transfers, etc.)
  • The ability to interact on a professional level with LHCL clients and their families, DSWs and representatives of other community-based organizations.

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday.

Due to the nature of providing community-based care for people with developmental disabilities, it is necessary that every employee of LHCL must be capable of assisting our clients and LHCL in areas that may be outside the specific elements of this job description. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
