Position Title: Director of Referral Relations FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: President and Chief Executive Officer POSITION SUMMARY: Develops and implements a business plan to grow inpatient and outpatient volume at The Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB). Through the design and implementation of referral development strategies, this position works closely with executive leadership to maximize volumes in all of our patient service areas (inpatient, outpatient, physicians’ clinic). Manages and oversees the Community Liaison department. Establishes key performance indicators to measure, monitor and drive referral development. Starting Wage: $105,584.39 The posted wage is the current starting wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Certification/Licensure: Valid State of Hawaii driver’s license Current State of Hawaii licensure as a registered nurse, therapist (PT, OT or SLP) or social worker Completion of competencies and other job-related and REHAB requirements. Education: Bachelor’s degree in related fields. Skills/Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of Sales/Marketing experience. Minimum of three (3) years experience at a management level within a hospital or healthcare setting. Proven track record in strategic business development within a healthcare environment. High level of communication and problem solving skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to develop, implement and maintain referral relations with a variety of customers. Effective verbal, written and electronic communications skills. Experience providing educational programs. Maintain a variable work schedule to meet department needs. Computer proficiency required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Advanced degree in clinical or healthcare field. Skills/Experience: Extensive experience in the healthcare industry or post acute care (IRF, LTAC, SNF). Clinical background in rehabilitation. Knowledge of post-acute provider admitting processes, Medicare and managed care reimbursement.
