Le Macaron French Pastries Chapel Hill is Hiring an Assistant Manager Near Chapel Hill, NC

Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing to ensure quality of service and product by all staff members.
  • Helps schedule all retail shifts and posts regularly.
  • Manages front and back of the house and identifies any training needs and improvement plans. This will include problem-solving, conflict resolution, and ongoing evaluation.
  • Is involved in researching supply sources and prices for items used in retail. Turns over regular ordering once the supply line is established.
  • Recruits and manages headcount of the front of the house staff.
  • Assist with hiring in other departments as needed
  • Manages repair and maintenance of front of the house equipment including tables, chairs, food cases and equipment and POS system.
  • Assist with repair and maintenance in other departments as needed.
  • Coordinates ordering of product with Cafe Owner as needed.
  • Provides new hire training and orientation to new all staff members.
  • Oversees the handling of all aspects of daily receipts including deposits, credit card batching and reconciling.
  • Responsible for customer outreach as regards customer complaints, web site accuracy, and monitoring of our Google, Yelp and Facebook accounts.
  • Ensures safe conditions for all retail staff members and our retail customers.
  • Handles worker’s comp claims and safety meetings and updates.
  • Plans and oversees holiday sales and orders.
  • Keeps track of hours to assist in payroll activities & scheduling
  • Makes recommendations about opportunities to add to sales, to better serve our customers, to add new equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, College or University Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years supervisory experience in either a food service business is REQUIRED
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Outstanding motivational skills and positive attitude
  • Strong leadership and problems solving skills
  • Ability to empower team members
  • Capability with POS software; MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power point)
  • Basic business math and accounting skills, and strong analytical/decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to attract/recruit, train, retain and promote high achievers
  • Good driving record

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems.
