Description **The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to the guest's table efficiently and accurately, and acting as a liaison between the front and back of house to ensure effective communication.**
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
Delivers food from the kitchen to the guests tables rapidly and accurately
- Runs completed dishes to guests without auctioning off food items at table
- Describe various food dishes to customers
- Maintains a working knowledge of full food and drink menu
- Checks with guests during dining experience to confirm satisfaction, as needed
- Acts as the contact point between Front and Back of house staff
- Acts as support to bus servers, when possible
- Keeps all service and table areas clean, organized and stocked
- Ensures all tables and chairs are steady and sturdy
- Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation and smiling
- Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials
- Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by the Board of Health
- Performs other related activities as assigned by management
**Qualifications**
- Deliver timely and courteous service to LDV Hospitality guests in adherence to our company policies and procedures
- Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
- Must have basic math skills
- Maintain friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times
- Strong customer service background
- Ability to have an outgoing, friendly disposition for guest relations
- Working knowledge of the full menu, including recipe details
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Attendance to company meetings and training seminars as required
- Responsible for training and developing new employees to LDV Hospitalitys standards of service
- Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by management
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
**Education, Experience, Knowledge Requirements**
- 1-2 years experience as a Food Runner in a similar caliber establishment is preferred
- A high school education is required
**Physical/Special Requirements**
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
- Mobility and manual dexterity appropriate to staff in the Food Runner position
**Work Environment**
- Ability to withstand a high volume of business and the movement, noise and temperature extremes associated with that volume
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
