Summary
As a Production Planner, you will play a critical role in optimizing production processes to ensure efficient utilization of resources and timely delivery of products. You will be responsible for developing production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to streamline workflows. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions
1. Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels and production capacity.
2. Coordinate with customer service and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of production plans with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
3. Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
4. Monitor material availability and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and raw materials.
5. Communicate production schedules, priorities and changes to relevant stakeholders including management, production teams and purchasing.
6. Utilize software tools to support planning activities and data analysis.
7. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
1. Associate’s degree in materials management or related field.
2. Proven experience in production planning, scheduling or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
3. Certification in production and inventory management desirable but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Must be reliable and detail oriented.
2. Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Knowledge of INFOR (EPR).
5. Proficiency in using ERP systems and other production planning tools.
6. Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately.
7. Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
8. Ability to work independently and continuously strive for improvement.
Physical Demands
1. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended period of time.
