The Courtyard by Marriott at NMSU is looking for an enthusiastic and service minded Barista/ Server. Come work in a fun atmosphere and learn the Marriott brand. The purpose of this position is to create beverages and restaurant related duties while providing outstanding service in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet guests with a warm welcome, remain guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by handling bar transactions and food orders in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Ring drink orders into POS immediately, collect payment, and make correct change.
• Mix, garnish and pour drinks according to standard recipes or portions, referring to recipe cards as needed.
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks.
• Adheres to proper food handling when assisting with serving or preparing food orders. The Barista assists in food preparation and serving as needed.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Address any guest concerns in a calm and professional manner focused on creating a positive guest experience and involve a manager when necessary.
• Perform server functions for all food orders.
• Keep bar stocked with necessary beverages, food items, paper supplies, utensils, ice, and other supplies at all times.
• Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked.
• Keep workstation clean and well organized.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
