The Spirit of the Position:

Garage Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, operation and safety of facility as well as providing excellent customer service to our garage patrons.

Responsibilities:

• Police and collect all garbage, debris, and leaves in garage/lot including all entrances and exits.
• Empty and replace all trash liners throughout garage/lot. Keep containers clean.
• Clean all entry and exit machines, gates and pay stations.
• Clean glass windows in office and stairwells.
• Maintain and clean all signage.
• Clean around all entrance areas into the building from garage, including doors.
• Sweep/Scrub/Power Wash all levels of garage
• Check for icy spots; remove ice and snow and salt as needed.
• Clean all emergency call button stations.
• Check for oil/grease spills. Clean using degreaser.
• Post proper event signage throughout garage and lot.
• Complete daily inspections of all levels of garage and lot.
• Equipment testing
• Provide customer service to garage patrons.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Experience:

• Strong customer service experience.
• Cash handling experience is preferred but not required.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

Skills:

• Willingness to be flexible, work multiple facility locations.
• Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations and de-escalate situations.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
• Must be able to make decisions independently and know when to refer to management for assistance.

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
