Lawrence Health Services is Hiring a Medical Coder Near Walnut, AR
Summary: Codes diagnosis and procedures on emergency room records, outpatient, inpatient, swingbed, and one day surgery records. Abstracts information on computer for billing and statistical purposes. Works with physicians and their office personnel concerning lack of diagnosis and/or coding related questions. Audit charts while coding for medical necessity and/or charges.
Education: High School graduate with courses that included typing. Courses in medical terminology and coding (ICD-10-CM and CPT).
Experience: Some experience in office work, preferably a doctor’s office or hospital. Requires approximately three to six months on-the-job training to become proficient in transcription, coding, and familiarity with departmental procedures.
