Job Overview:
The Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center is currently seeking a Membership Coordinator to join our team. Under the general supervision and direction of the Assistant Director of Community Engagement, the Membership Coordinator assumes a crucial role in bolstering the JCC membership community. This position actively contributes to devising and implementing strategies to retain and engage members, encompassing plans to attract, retain, and expand membership, and enhancing member involvement within the LFJCC. Operating both autonomously and collaboratively, the Membership Coordinator ensures the fulfillment of key responsibilities, including membership recruitment and retention, oversight of community engagement technology, and strategic data collection. This role is directly responsible for prospective member outreach, Membership retention calls, intervention, and Engagement, including implementing plans for attracting, retaining, and growing membership, as well as connecting members with micro communities. Central to this role is the establishment of connections with prospective and current members, as well as other community groups, to foster the growth and enrichment of our membership base. The incumbent in this role will need the availability to work Full-time, with a Sunday to Thursday schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • BS in Business Management or related field preferred but not required.
  • Must have Sun-Thurs availability.
  • Available to work evenings and other times as needed for major events.
  • 3 years of experience in the hospitality/service industry preferred.
  • Previous consultative sales experience in a membership driven organization.
  • Previous experience with Tessitura and/or other CMS programs is required.
  • Bookkeeping knowledge and skills.
  • Strong understanding of Google Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team player.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with a variety of personality types with diplomacy.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond confidently and promptly to stressful situations.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Capacity to solve problems with diplomacy and tact making sound judgments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple, simultaneous tasks; while maintaining budget parameters.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified within 6 months of being hired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work at a computer station for extended periods of time.
  • Sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
  • Ability to do light lifting (maximum 25 lbs.) as needed is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typical office environment and equipment (computer, phone, printer, copy machine, etc.).
  • Flexible business hours; required to work weekends and evenings for most events as needed.
