Lauren's Institute for Education is Hiring a Direct Support Professional-Employment Program Near Gilbert, AZ

Description

Fun-loving, hardworking, compassionate people with a sincere heart for helping people with disabilities and their families should consider a position in our Day Treatment Program as aDirect Support Professional in our Employment Program  at Lauren’s Institute For Education.

At L.I.F.E. we take pride in our team approach, combining the educational backgrounds and expertise of ALL our staff to provide the best possible treatments for our consumers.  All members of our incredible team are valued for who they are and the positive impact they have on those they serve.


RATE: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour DOE, 


$500 Commitment Bonus, 50% at 3 months and 50% at 6 months

HOURS: 40 Per week, Monday through Friday

As a Direct Support Professional working with our adults in our Employment Program, you can expect a typical day to include:

    • Helping to run an on campus snack shack
    • Weekly shopping trip with consumers
    • Assisting consumers in mock jobs around campus
    • Teaching and assisting consumers in employment related activities and lessons. This could include career interest assessments, resume writing, filling out job applications, workplace safety, etc.
    • Assisting with the academy hot lunch program

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of resume and cover letter writing
  • Knowledge of workplace safety
  • Knowledge of food safety
  • Ability to obtain food handler card
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to drive bus
  • Able and willing to teach lessons or lead activities
  • Ability to handle basic cash transactions
  • Understanding of Social Skill Deficits
  • Understanding of Developmental MilestonesUnderstanding of Maladaptive Behaviors
