LaunchDarkly is Hiring a Remote Accounting Manager

About the Job: 

We are looking for an Accounting Manager who will be play a critical role in building a world-class accounting function with a great understanding of accounting principles, ERP systems and has managed a complete month-end close cycle. Experience working in both high growth and fast-paced start-ups and public companies will be extremely helpful. A strong work ethic, high professional standards, and the capacity to get things done independently are essential for this role.

 Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting close and reporting process, assuring that month-end close tasks and reconciliations are completed on the assigned due dates

• Oversee and own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, consolidations, preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and chart of accounts maintenance

• Partner cross-functionally with IT, HR and/or FP&A to execute strategic initiatives

• Partner with Assistant Controller in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliation processes

• Oversee preparation of company tax reporting requirements and tax filings accordingly

• Lead and contribute in the financial audit process including preparation of various audit schedules and quarterly flux analysis

• Assist with the development and maintenance of policies and internal controls

• Prepare ad hoc assignments as requested

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• At least 2 years of people management experience in accounting

• Big 4 experience and/or CPA preferred

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; high EQ

• Excellent skills in accuracy, organization, and comfortable working in a high-volume/fast-paced environment

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills to maintain complex spreadsheets & perform complex functions (Vlookup, pivot tables, match, etc.)

• Solid understanding of accounting life cycle and all that it entails for startups, growing businesses and public companies to succeed

• Experience with large-scale ERP, NetSuite is strongly preferred

• Accuracy and follow-up skills with ability to identify and resolve problems

• Ability to work well with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a team environment

• Proven experience developing and mentoring a high performing accounting team

• Willingness to roll-up your sleeves when work needs to get done
