Position Overview: As a Residential CAD Drafter, you will play a key role in translating architectural concepts and designs into detailed construction drawings and plans. Working closely with architects, designers, and project managers, you will use CAD software to produce accurate and precise drawings that adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in CAD drafting, a passion for residential design, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design:
Create detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
Incorporate architectural designs, specifications, and client preferences into accurate and precise drawings.
Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards in all drafting work.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with architects, designers, and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives.
Communicate effectively with team members to clarify design intent, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment on project deliverables.
Revision and Modification:
Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders, clients, and regulatory authorities.
Incorporate design changes, updates, and revisions into existing drawings while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Documentation and Organization:
Organize and maintain drawing files, project documentation, and related records in a structured and accessible manner.
Prepare drawing sets, schedules, and documentation packages for internal review, client presentations, and construction purposes.
Quality Assurance:
Perform quality checks and verifications to ensure that drawings and plans meet established standards, specifications, and guidelines.
Verify dimensions, annotations, symbols, and other elements for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Drafting, Architecture, or related field.
3 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in residential design or architectural firms.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp, with a strong understanding of drafting principles and techniques.
Knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
