About this position:
Later is seeking a strategic-minded professional to take on the Senior Manager, Data Operations role responsible for managing and driving the Company's data engineering, business intelligence, and data science function. This individual will play a key leader in our orgization but will also be hands-on in implementing and refining our processes and data.
Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Operations, you will play a critical role in advancing Later’s data-driven initiatives, Refining and driving our internal repointing and analytics strategy, and owning the centralized warehouse for ops and finance reporting.

What you'll be doing:
Leadership
- Oversee the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide leadership, technical guidance, and coaching to staff.
- Build organizational talent by creating a learning environment that ensures employees realize their highest potential.
- Collaborate with the product, sales and marketing, operations, finance, and IT teams on prioritized technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership in data architecture, ensuring the best data modeling, storage, and retrieval practices.
- Facilitate the best practices in Master Data Management across the company.
- Manage your team’s sprint goals, stories, and deliverables.
- Effectively convey the company’s strategy and vision to the data team and enable the team through organized meetings, coordinated initiatives, and cross-team coordination.
- Ensure Process and Procedural documentation is accurate and updated.
Data Strategy & Infrastructure
- Champion utilization of business intelligence technology across business functions. Lead and develop an enterprise approach to operational analytics, data visualization, analysis, and modeling.
- Ensure GCP architecture is appropriately set up to enable ease of data flow from disparate applications across the enterprise.
- Oversee the integration of data sources to create a unified and comprehensive view of company performance.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive tag management strategy, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to best practices.
- Drive the design and optimize data visualization tools to provide actionable insights that enhance business decision-making.
Problem Solving & Collaboration
- develop strategies to leverage data for operational metrics, sophisticated data analysis, and advanced data modeling to solve business problems.
- Ensure the Data Science team's solutions clearly reflect and effectively solve the business problem in question. Perform code reviews as required.
- Manage a portfolio of business intelligence projects to ensure on-time delivery.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues, identify root causes, and direct solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment where formal requirements or guidelines may not always be readily available.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to track requirements and performance, generate insights, and help create a Data roadmap to Impact Overall Company outcomes.
What we are looking for:
- 6-8 years of experience in data management, analytics, or related roles
- 3 years of leadership experience building, managing, and leading high-performing, diverse, collaborative, and geographically distributed data teams.
- Bachelors or Master's in Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Econometrics, or other technical fields.
- Strong understanding of data pipeline and automation tools, data governance, and enterprise-level systems
- Experience with segment.io, Mode, Stitch, and Google Big Query
- Experience with AWS/GCP cloud services such as GCS/S3, Lambda/Cloud Function, Athena, and DynamoDB
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Experience with agile development frameworks, systems integrator models, and cloud-based platforms for software, analytics, and data management following the SLC process and procedure.

We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.
Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.
To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted.
Additionally, all permanent team members are granted stock options and are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.
Salary Range: $140,000 - 165,000 USD
