Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of patients while adhering to all healthcare regulations and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team
- Assist with medical procedures such as botulinum toxin treatment, gastric lavage, and acute pain management
- Provide wound care and perform dressing changes
- Assist with medical imaging procedures
- Administer tube feedings and assist with enteral nutrition management
- Monitor patients on ventilators and provide respiratory support as needed
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication administration, and self-care techniques
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times, including hospice care
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments accurately
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including children and adults
- Ability to assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans
- Knowledge of occupational health practices and protocols
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism
