Las Mercedes Medical Center is Hiring a Remote Medical Assistant

Position Summary:

To assist physician with patient examination and other required medical services.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients to record vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
  • Assist physicians when performing such task as giving injections and removing sutures.
  • Educates patients on their medical conditions as applicable.
  • Reinforces physicians’ recommendations and instructions to patients.
  • Review medical records for completeness of visit related documentation.
  • Prepares referrals with corresponding notes and forwards to the Referral department for processing.
  • Authorizes medication refills and provide prescription information to the pharmacy.
  • Addresses patient’s problems/concerns that may arise.
  • Complies with company and regulatory agencies guidelines.
  • Answers phone calls promptly and professionally as required.
  • Proficient in EMR system
  • Performs duties of absent employees when situation so demand, such as Phlebotomy, EKG, and venipuncture.
  • Able to work in a busy environment.

Qualifications:

High school graduate

Medical Assistant certification from the State of Florida

Previous experience preferred

Bilingual

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
