Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated DCWs to provide assistance and support to individuals in need. As a DCW, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients. This position requires experience in behavior management, medication administration, documentation, and personal care.
Duties:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with meal planning and preparation
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up
- Escort clients to appointments or social outings
- Follow care plans and maintain accurate documentation of services provided
- Ensure client safety and adhere to resident rights
- Be comfortable with assisting client with brief changes
Experience:
- Previous experience in direct care with trainings.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with one on one care
- Experience working in group homes or home care settings is a plus
- Basic understanding of first aid procedures
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have cpr/tb test/physical
- Ability to adapt to changing client needs
We offer competitive pay rates for this position. These are 12 hour shifts 8a-8p or 8p-8a. Home is located on the west side of Detroit.
