Join our team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Physical Medicine Department is now hiring a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant to work at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is located in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This is a busy department that sometimes requires flexibility in scheduling. Employees report directly to the Director of Physical Medicine. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Read a full position description below. 

Position's Purpose and Essential Functions: 

This position assists a Physical Therapist with a patient's rehabilitative activities to help reduce pain, improve strength, endurance and mobility. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration. Relies on experience and judgement to carry out the plan of care completed by the Physical Therapist. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to the Director of Physical Medicine and will receive instruction from the physical therapist. Associate's degree from an accredited program and licensed as a PTA in the state of Tx or eligible to be licensed in the state of Tx is required. Must be dedicated to excellence in patient care. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English and Spanish) with good written and verbal skills. 

Applicants Job Requirements Include:

Education:

Required: Graduate of a APTA approved associate's degree program or shall have completed equivalent training, and shall meet practice requirements of appropriate State of Texas. 

Experience: 

Required: Education/experience in working with an adult and geriatric population is necessary; education/experience serving people with physical disabilities is desirable. 

Licenses/Certificates: 

Required: Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Texas.

Required: BLS within 30 days of hire.
