LARC is Hiring a Human Resource/Payroll Specialist Near Lafayette, LA

SUMMARY: The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Human Resource Department. The Payroll Assistant will assist with Payroll preparation and maintaining payroll records, files and reports. Highflyer experience a plus!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes but not limited to the following.

Human Resources:

· Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.

· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

· Provides clerical support to the HR department.

· Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries.

· Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.

· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.

· Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees with training coordinator.

· Data entry into Great Plains/Highflyer for new hires, revision/updates and terminations.

· Onboarding Highflyer

· Sets up background and MVR checks.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes but not limited to the following.

Payroll:

GENERAL DUTIES:

· Serves as a back-up in answering telephones.

· Serves as a back-up in greeting and or assisting visitors.

· Assist in typing memos, correspondence, reports and other documents for Director of Finance and Human Resources.

· Provide information to customers, claimants, employees and sales personnel as deemed necessary.

· Maintain client and employee rights and confidentiality at all times.

· Required to attend on-going in-service training.

· Responsible for knowing and carrying out the established policies and procedures.

PAYROLL:

· Input new client/employees information including taxes, I-9 information and direct deposit forms.

· Responsible for maintaining employee and client I-9 binder.

· Submit employee/client time and payroll data from time sheets and other records.

· Prepare appropriate payroll reports, verifying hours, overtime, holiday pay, vacation sick, and deductions.

· Post Payroll, prepare and print reports checking for accuracy. If corrections needed, enter and post any adjusting entries as necessary.

· File payroll reports and documents.

· Verify and/or complete payroll forms for Social Security, Food Stamps, etc. for clients

· Backup Human Resources with employment verification for employees.

· Responsible for posting month end liabilities for SUTA and Workers Comp.

· Assist in closing payroll year.

· Work with independent, state and worker compensation auditors.

· Responsible for knowing and carrying out the established policies and procedures for LARC, DOL, FLSA, etc.

· Work closely with Human Resources and provide assistance when needed.

· Backup for Human Resources for completing Garnishment interrogatories, setting up garnishment deductions and submitting garnishments to Highflyer for processing payment

BENEFIT COST MANAGEMENT:

· Reconcile health insurance breakdown, analyze breakdown matching to payroll, solve any discrepancies and process payment online.

· Reconcile Life insurance breakdown, analyze breakdown matching to payroll, solve any discrepancies and process payment online.

· Backup for the responsibility of Analyze AFLAC billing comparing to payroll and process payment online.

· Reconcile Dental/Vision breakdown, analyze breakdown matching to payroll, solve any discrepancies and process payment online.

· Report any discrepancies to Human Resources.

FINANCE:

· Compile monthly financial reports as directed by CFO/CEO.
