Job Summary : Core responsibilities of this position include :

CNA / LPN / RN and MA’s are health care professionals working in collaboration with physicians to provide patients with care, education, and support.

The core responsibilities of this position include : managing health problems and coordinating health care in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations of care in a college clinic 3 hours every Tuesday night during Fall and Spring Semesters.

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

MA - $24.34 / hr

CNA - $24.34 / hr

LPN - $34.29 / hr

RN - $38.15 / hr

Screening Date : Position Open Until Filled.Screening will begin immediately.

Start Date : As soon as practical after screening process.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions : this position is Non-Exempt, ., is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.

This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative; other duties may be assigned).

  • Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for acute patients.
  • Providing patient support and care, attention and assistance during clinic visits.
  • Prepping exam rooms for clinical procedures and assist physician with patient care.
  • Conduct inventory of clinic supplies and report needed supplies to Coordinator of CCW.
  • Measure vital signs of students seeking medical attention.
  • Prescribes non-pharmacologic treatment modalities per the LCCC Counseling and Campus Wellness Standards of Practice.
  • Documentation and charting completed on each patient according to National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) core standards.
  • Programming in a higher education setting to support : wellness initiatives, healthy choices, healthy relationships, drug and alcohol awareness.
  • Demonstrates a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field or discipline.
  • Become familiar with and comply with all College policies and procedures.
  • Assisting the Coordinator of CCW with oversight of Student Health Clinic.
  • Attend regular check-in meetings with Coordinator of CCW for guidance and oversight throughout the semester.

Physical / Mental Demands :

The essential functions of this position require the ability to work in a medical setting with potential exposure to bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens;

Personal Protective Equipment and safety procedures must be utilized as required.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to maintain appropriate composure and necessary confidentiality with regard to both past and current employee, student, and donor data;

documents; issues; etc., and respect privacy needs of employees, students, donors

The ability to comply with highly inflexible deadlines is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position;

there will be multiple occurrences of sudden, urgent task completion required

  • While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required including long workdays, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and / or students, past employees and / or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
  • While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
  • There may be multiple / daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and / or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
  • An employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds to perform essential position functions.

Lifts exceeding 50 pounds require a team lift technique.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.
  • Able to manipulate instruments, supplies, and equipment with speed, dexterity, and exceptional hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to function in an environment with substantial latex and / or nitrile material exposure and without an allergic reaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements :

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), RN (Registered Nurse), or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) credential.
  • Current CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications :

Two or more years of work experience in an applied field
