Lapeer Manufacturing Company is Hiring a Quality Manager Near Lapeer, MI

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Safety:

  • · Adhere to established Safety Practices / Procedures / & Regulations to assure Employee Safety at all times.
  • Understand the quality and environmental management systems and how this position affects those systems. 

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Work and coordinate with other department managers to insure the manufacturing of quality parts and service to the customer. 
  • Conduct internal quality audits to assure compliance with customer requirements and to insure a lasting environment of continuous improvement. 
  • Communicate with customers in a professional manner concerning quality issues and requirements. 
  • Conduct supplier audits to insure compliance to quality standards as established by customer specifications. 

Competency:

  • Understand OEM performance testing and appearance requirements
  • Understand molding and paint defects
  • Understand and ability to learn spray application techniques

Responsibility:

  • Manage the IATF 16949 and ISO 17025 quality management systems, including standards and procedures. 
  • Develop boundary and quality standards for each program
  • Monitor and control of scrap and rework material
  • Sample and PPAP submission to include:
    • Part Submission warrant
    • Appearance approval report
    • Dimensional layout
    • Process flows
    • FMEA
    • Control plan
    • Gage R & R
    • Capability study
    • Material certifications
    • Test reports
    • IMDS
  • Interview, hire, supervise, discipline and train the employees under your direction
  • Monitor all overall activities of the quality resources department
  • Develop quality control systems
Report Tracking:
  • Acquisition and safe maintenance of all blue prints, material standards, process standards, certifications, technical library and all pertinent quality records. 
  • Tracking and reporting of quality costs
  • Proper maintenance and operating condition of all quality control test equipment and the physical laboratory including lab accreditations. 

Experience:

Min. Requirements:

  • Quality experience in production environment of Automotive Industry
  • Prior Management of small team
  • Knowledge of quality management system (ISO 17025 / IATF 16949) and quality core tools
  • Skills in problem solving methods (8D)
  • Office skills (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)
  • Good relationship/collaboration and teamwork – Listening, Team spirit
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team – Communication
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment – Networking
  • Analysis competency and accurate in documentation - Enthusiasm
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability – Decision making
  • Attention to detail
